Medford School District 549C
Medford School District 549C is the eighth largest district in the state of
Oregon. It is a
high quality teaching and learning organization dedicated to preparing all students to
graduate with a sound educational foundation, ready to succeed in post-secondary
education, and to be contributing community members.

Higher Education
Southern Oregon is well equipped for continuing education and workforce development
with Rogue Community College located in Grants Pass and Medford and Southern Oregon
University with campuses in Ashland and Medford.
Rogue Community College
Rogue Community College serves Jackson and Josephine counties with campuses in Grants Pass
and downtown Medford. A third campus, devoted to
professional/technical education and located in White City, is scheduled to begin offering
classes in fall 2005. Rogue Community College serves
an average of 4,500 full-time students each year and offers lower-division academic
courses culminating in five two-year degrees. RCC offers 32 professional/technical
programs as well as a variety of workforce and short-term training, developmental studies
classes, community education classes, and services to local business and industry. For

Southern Oregon University
Southern
Oregon University's main campus is located 12 miles south of Medford in sunny Ashland on a
beautiful 175-acre campus. SOU also offers
lower-division, upper-division and graduate courses for both full and part-time students
at its Medford campus in downtown Medford. Southern
Oregon University combines quality education with
a spectacular location. Surrounded by rugged mountains, rivers and lakes, it is home to
5,478 students from around the world. SOU, a
four-year university specializing in liberal arts, sciences and select graduate and
professional programs, offers 100 areas of study including 35 majors in the schools of
arts and letters, sciences, social sciences and business.
SOU specializes in individual attention offering small class sizes, a 19 to 1
